Program Information Program Categories: Character Animation, Fine Art, Workshops, Distance Learning, Private Training Number of Students: 10-12 per session Number of Foreign Students: 3 -5 per session Teacher / Student Ratio: 10 students to 1 instructor Year Program First Started: 1999 Fees / Tuition Information: $1395 Cdn. per session Entrance Requirements: Students are required to show examples of their most recent art work, particularly work that is related to observational drawing. Facilities / Equipment: We teach out of a spacious well lit studio, that can comfortably hold up to 12 students. Program Philosophy: Our aim is to provide students with a portfolio that is consistent with the guidlines of entry for college level animation and visual art programs. We assist our students in cultivating the ability to produce portfolio pieces of the highest quality,as well as a critical eye that helps them to discern which pieces of work are most appropriate for the portfolio specifications that they are attempting to fulfill. Faculty Description: As a storyboard artist,Vincent Peets professional experience covers animated t.v. series, feature films, and t.v.spots in both Toronto and Los Angeles. As an instructor, he recently taught Drawing For Animation, and Storyboarding at Sheridan College in the Classical Animation Department. Gerard Sternik is a professional visual artist with work in private and public collections in Canada and Europe. He is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art, and taught Life Drawing and Anatomy in the Classical Animation Department at Sheridan College (1996 to 2000). Alumni Information: Students who have completed the Summer / Fall Session of Animation Portfolio Workshop have used their portfolios to gain admittance to Classical Animation Programs at Sheridan College, Seneca College, Algonquin College, Capilano College, Max the Mutt Animation Inc.and St.Clair College, as well as to Illustration, Visual Art, Graphic Design, Industrial Design and Architecture programs at the University of Toronto, University of Waterloo, Ontario College of Art and Design, Sheridan College And Ryerson Polytecnical Institute. Other Pertinent Information: In the Fall of 2002, Animation Portfolio Workshop developed in three new directions. Distance learning components were sucessfully completed with students from, Cyprus, Brasil and Hong Kong. Three additional courses were developed for senior students; Storyboarding Anatomical Life Drawing Painting A mentoring program for graduates of the Workshop was also initiated.
